Where can I stay during Insight Days?

You have two options for your Insight Days stay:

  • Stay On-Campus at the Butler Guest House (free of charge). Prospective students who wish to stay on campus free-of-charge are invited to stay in Mississippi State University’s on-campus hotel, the Butler Guest House. Please note that students may be housed together in double occupancy rooms. Space is limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. Any amenities or fees accrued beyond the overnight room rate are the responsibility of the prospective student. Cancellations to Butler Guest House arrangements must be made with the Insight Day team at least 48 hours prior to the event. More information is available at http://www.housing.msstate.edu/guest/.
  • Stay Off-Campus at a Local Hotel or other local arrangements (rates vary). Prospective students who wish to make their own arrangements at a local hotel are free to do so. Please see below of for a list of suggested hotels. Any room rates and fees for this option are the responsibility of the prospective student.

Where can I park during my visit?

Insight Days participants staying in the Butler Guest House and who plan on bringing a car to campus will receive a parking pass as part of their stay for Thursday and Friday in the lot adjacent to the hotel.

All other Insight Days participants who plan to have a car on campus may consider the following options:

For the Thursday evening reception, you may park on campus without a permit after 5 p.m. Options include: a) parking for free at the timed/metered and faculty/staff lots off to the side of the YMCA, Colvard Student Union, and the Butler Guest House; b) parking at the Old Main Academic Parking Garage (just behind the YMCA Building) for a fee; c) parking off-campus and arranging for a current student to pick you up. For Friday, options include: a) signing up for a parking permit to park in non-gated lots on campus (the first permit is free); b) paying a fee to park in the Old Main Academic Parking Garage; or c) parking off-campus and arranging for a current student to pick you up.
